Top Reasons to Choose
Claude Certified Architect - Foundations (CCAR-F)
Scenario-Based Architecture Judgment
The CCAR-F exam asks candidates to reason through realistic production contexts rather than recall isolated definitions. This makes the credential directly relevant to the decisions architects make when designing agents, tools, workflows, and structured-output systems.
A Practical Claude Technology Core
The CCAR-F syllabus brings together Claude Code, the Agent SDK, the Claude API, and MCP. Candidates build a connected understanding of how these technologies work together in production-grade applications.
A Strong Foundation for Advanced Architect Work
The certification helps technical professionals develop a disciplined approach to reliability, context management, safe tool use, and human handoffs. These foundations support future ownership of larger Claude solution architectures.

FAQ
-
Do I need to earn CCAO-F or CCDV-F before CCAR-F?
No. Anthropic states that there are no mandatory prerequisites, and the four certifications are separate credentials.
-
How are the CCAR-F scenarios selected?
Answer: Four scenarios are selected from a bank of six; the official guide describes the scenario contexts and the primary domains each one reinforces.
-
Can a low domain percentage cause a failure if my total score passes?
Answer: No. The pass or fail result is based on the total scaled score of 720; domain percentages help identify areas for further study.
-
How can I request testing accommodations?
Answer: Request accommodations through Pearson before scheduling the exam. Pearson reviews and administers each request individually.
-
Are notes or browser translation tools allowed during CCAR-F?
Answer: No. The exam is closed book, and Anthropic's certification FAQ does not permit notes, documentation, browser translation tools, or AI assistants.
