Certification Overview
Hewlett Packard Enterprise positions HPE ASE - Compute Solutions as a structured validation of planning, designing, managing, maintaining, and optimizing HPE compute and AI solutions for enterprise workloads. The current official learning and assessment scope emphasizes Compute solution planning, Industry-standard server technologies, HPE management tools, Workload and sizing decisions, Solution design and operations. Candidates are expected to connect product and solution knowledge with practical customer, design, implementation, administration, troubleshooting, or sales decisions appropriate to this certification level.
The certification is intended for experienced compute professionals, solution architects, and technical consultants working across the HPE server portfolio. It is relevant to career paths such as Compute Solutions Architect, Senior Server Engineer, Infrastructure Consultant, Hybrid Cloud Engineer. Atmic Networks maps it to Professional Level for website filtering and to the roles listed later in this document. The credential can demonstrate a focused HPE capability or support progression through HPE ATP, ASE, Master ASE, solution, product, networking, or sales pathways.
The current earning route is: Confirm the HPE ASE - Compute Solutions transition or migration path; Pass HPE0-S59 before its retirement date or complete the successor path published by HPE. Mandatory prerequisites are stated separately from recommended experience: Confirm the active path and any ATP requirement shown by HPE. Candidates should use the active HPE Certification and Learning data card, complete the recommended training and labs, and confirm every exam identifier before registration. HPE is expanding modular curricula and badge exams, so a certification data card can show a proctored route, a modular route, or migration options.
HPE0, HPE6, and HPE7 exams are proctored through Pearson VUE test centers or OnVUE where available; HPE2 and HPE3 exams are timed web-based assessments; HPE1 and HPE4 are practical exams. This credential's current validity is three years from the achievement date under hpe's versionless technical-certification model. Candidates should retain score reports and monitor their HPE credential management profile for badges, expiration dates, prerequisites, and recertification requirements. Current program note: HPE0-S59 becomes inactive on 15 September 2026. Candidates should verify whether HPE directs them to Compute Architect, Compute Integrator Solutions, or another migration path.
