Candidates are expected to connect Fortinet product knowledge with practical decisions made in real security environments, including configuration, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, design, or operational support as appropriate to the level.

The certification is designed for experienced network and security professionals responsible for advanced SASE designs and distributed access environments. It is relevant to career paths such as SASE Architect, Senior Network Security Engineer, SD-WAN Architect, Secure Access Consultant. Atmic Networks maps it to Expert Level for website filtering and to the roles listed later in this document. The credential can validate a focused skill set or support progression through Fortinet's eight-level NSE program, but it does not replace hands-on product experience.

Exam retake and result policy

• Wait 15 days before retaking a failed proctored exam; an exam already passed cannot be retaken.

Registration, results, and credential tracking

• Use one Fortinet Training Institute account consistently for training, testing, badges, and certification history.

Expired certification: If the certification expires, complete the current initial certification requirements again.

Cascading renewal: Earning or renewing this NSE 7 renews active NSE 1-4 and active NSE 5/6 SASE certifications.
