Certification Overview
Each CCNP Security certification requires
two exams:
- Core Exam – Covers foundational and advanced security technologies.
- Concentration Exam – Allows candidates to specialize in a specific security technology area.
Note: Passing the core exam also qualifies you for the corresponding CCIE Security lab exam.

What CCNP Security Validates

Required Exams
🔹 Core Exam (Required)
- 350-701 SCOR – Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies

🔹 Concentration Exam (Choose One)
You must choose
one of the following security-focused concentration exams:
- 300-710 SNCF – Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower
- 300-715 SISE – Implementing and Configuring Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- 300-720 SESA – Securing Email with Cisco Email Security Appliance
- 300-725 SWSA – Securing the Web with Cisco Web Security Appliance
- 300-730 SVPN – Implementing Secure Solutions with Virtual Private Networks
- 300-735 SAUTO – Automating and Programming Cisco Security Solutions
Concentration Focus Areas Include:
- Firewall configuration and management
- Identity services and access control
- VPN technologies and secure remote access
- Email and web security
- Security automation and API integration
Validity & Recertification
Validity Period: 3 Years
Renewal Options
You can recertify by completing any one of the following:
- Pass one professional-level core exam
- Pass any two professional-level concentration exams
- Pass one expert-level lab exam
- Earn continuing education credits
Recommended Experience
There are
no formal prerequisites for CCNP Security.
However, Cisco recommends:
- 3–5 years of experience implementing security solutions
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity concepts
